These restaurants prepare dishes using local agricultural products, making consumers more appreciative of agriculture. However, operating farm restaurants requires high managerial know-how. This study identifies the success factors and prospective challenges by analyzing the case of a farm restaurant located in a suburban instead of rural area. Further, it discusses the factors and potentialities necessary for its long-term development. The success factors derived from the case are as follows : 1) creating authenticity to survive competition in various aspects such as quality of food prepared, ambience, and agricultural-related events and 2) sustaining overall motivation by sharing management philosophy and experience with employees. The study also highlights that it is necessary for the sustainable management of farm restaurants in the suburbs to build mutual trust with local producers and consumers by fulfilling their multiple functions. The study concludes that it is important for the development of suburban farm restaurants to have communities dedicated to farm
