Questionnaire surveys were completed by the students after the workshops in 2018 and 2019. In both years, in reply to questions that asked whether the students “participated in the workshop with a serious attitude,” “increased their interest through the workshop,” and “enhanced their knowledge and skills through the workshop,” all students gave positive responses. In the 2019 survey, the topics the students found interesting included “soluble solids content of tomatoes,” “pepinos,” and “differences in the taste of tomatoes.” The topics that students believed had enhanced their knowledge and skills included “differences in the color and taste of tomatoes,” “soluble solids content of tomatoes,” and “pepinos.” A co-occurrence network created from the post-seminar reports submitted by the students identified groups such as “outcomes of learning on tomatoes,” “outcomes of learning on pepinos,” and “interest in university.” Based on these results, it is suggested that the students developed their interest in the production technologies for high-quality vegetables they learned about at the workshop, and found the workshop useful for learning new knowledge and technologies.
