From this review of the back ground and effects of an autonomous project over a ten-year period, we aimed to clarify the social roles and concerns of the position of park administrator.  It was verified that the autonomous project is a strategic approach to solve the social problem of involving local collaborators with the assistance of a park administrator who has park maintenance skills and makes contributions toward their local policies, natural resource management and park services.
