 note = {群馬県川場村は,1975年から「農業プラス観光」を地域振興の基本理念として種々の地域振興策を講じてきた山村である。その結果として,過疎地域指定(1971年)も2000年には解除される等の成果を生んでいる。本稿では,この「農業プラス観光」を支える基盤である民間宿泊業のうち特に民宿に注目し,現状の分析と若干の考察を行った。その結果,民宿業の現下の優越性として,[◯!1]総じて高いリピート率を誇ること,[◯!2]各民宿毎に特徴ある客層を対象とした経営を実現していること,[◯!3]多くにおいて後継者を有していること,等を確認することができた。一方で,解決を要する点として,[◯!1]スキー客への依存,[◯!2]地域社会への経済的貢献度の低さ,[◯!3]他機関・他組織との連携の弱さ,[◯!4]交流事業との連携の弱さ等も明らかとなった。, Kawaba Village, situated in Gumma Prefecture, Japan, adopted the motto "Agriculture plus Sightseeing" as its central policy for regional development from 1975. As a result of, the actual fruit of all the efforts, the designation of sparsely populated area activated in 1971, was lifted in 2000. In this paper a strong focus is put on the private accommodation business, especially Minshuku or family-run small-scale accommodation facilities paying special attention to the deveropment of a relationship between guests and hosts or hostesses. It can be considerd one of the basic elements of the "Agriculture plus Sightseeing" scheme, so here we conducted an investigation and attempted the analysis of their present situation. As a result three mainly points could be observed. [◯!1]In general, once guests enjoys their stay in Minshuku they tend to come again or more than three times. [◯!2]Each Minshuku succeeds in running the business by targeting particular types of guests and making it unique compared with other ones. [◯!3]Quite a few Minshuku have their successors. On the other hand, the following facts could be pointed out as some of the problems of the project. [◯!1]They depend too much on skiers or sky-related guests in winter as their main target customers, in other words they have to think about drawing customers in other seasons. [◯!2]They contribute too little to the local economy. [◯!3]The relationship with other organizations and institutions are not close enough.
