 note = {戦後植栽された人工林が成熟期となっているが,皆伐更新作業は,短期間の更新時に多くの費用や労働力が必要なことが森林経営上の大きな課題である。択伐施業は,皆伐を行わないため労働力を分散する方法であり,個別林家のような少ない労働力で森林を管理することができる。しかしながら,林分の光環境,素材生産方法など技術的に困難な場合が多く,効率が良くないなどの問題点を指摘できる。そして,特に長伐期優良材生産を目指す篤林家によってのみ行われている。本論文では,複層林施業や混交林施業を実施している徳島県那賀町の橋本家を取り上げ,森林経営の歴史,択伐施業の経営方針,造成された森林の現状について調査し,人工林択伐施業の特徴や実施条件をもとに,現代において優れている点,学ぶべき点について考察することにした。その結果,橋本家の森林経営は,樹木の成長状況,気象,植生,地形などの自然条件,家族の生活や労働力とのバランスなどの社会条件を考慮した森林経営であること,択伐の度合いにより様々な混交林や複層林が形成されてきていることがわかった。一般材だけでなく優良材の価格が低下している現状に対しては,高密度作業道を設置して地利条件を改善し択伐可能面積を増加させてきたこと,計画的な伐採を行っていること,マーケティングを考慮した販売戦略を取り入れたりして対応してきたことがわかった。個別林家による人工林択伐施業実施のためには,森林の生産力,生活に関連する労働力や収益性,林業を行うための(機械の導入,作業道設置などの)生産基盤の確立とともに,長期的な視野に立った森林経営方針の構築とその継承が重要であると結論づけた。, The man-made forests especially created after the second world war in Japan have ma- tured. In this paper, constraints on regeneration were considered due to cost and man-power required in a short period. Selective logging systems faced limits of decreasing cost and man-power in the short term, but competition for light, logging technologies etc. have also been mentioned as constraints on forest management. So forest management limits are being re-assessed especially among earnest and valuable log oriented forest owners. The study focuses on the family project of Mr. Hashimoto, of Naka-town, Tokushima prefecture, which is famous for multi-storey forestry and mixed species forestry, and researches their history, and policy of forest management and forest structures. Discussion focuses on how these factors are related to man-made selective logging systems, and their significance and efforts. The results show that Hashimoto forestry considered the natural condition of forest such as tree increment, climate, vegetation, geographic conditions, and social conditions such as family life and man-power. Many types of mixed forest and multi-story forest have been created. Strategies to deal with the problem of decrease of log prices included expanding the area of forest management by intensive logging road, harvesting of trees by executive management plan and application of marketing strategies.
