We took the Hitoyoshi basin in Kumamoto Prefecture as the area of study and examined natural landscape, man-made landscape, and man-designed landscape existing in this area. As a result of this study, we clarified the changes to man-made landscape from natural landscape in form and statistical value. In addition, the distinguishing features of man-designed landscape, dependent on natural and cultural model resources included in both natural landscape and man-made landscape, was also clarified.
